Causa Limeña is one of the most emblematic and versatile dishes of Peruvian cuisine.

Its roots go back to the pre-Columbian period, when native potatoes and yellow chili were used in multiple preparations.

With the arrival of ingredients such as lime and canned tuna during the 20th century, the recipe evolved into the current version, especially popular in Lima.

Traditionally served cold, the causa is prepared by pounding yellow potatoes with chili, lime, and oil, and is filled with ingredients such as chicken, seafood, or in this case, tuna.

Its layered format, colorful and elegant, has made it a star of Creole cuisine, perfect for both banquets and snacking in small bites.
